The challenge.

Realising that living in a foreing culture is a challenge for a person with a completely different background and culture I decided to challenge my self. This way it perhaps will be easier to understand some of the problems that arise during an exchange year.
The purpose of going abroad for three months are; learning more about my self and make a difference by doing volunteer work.

People think I am crazy and it doesn’t make sense. Others say “what an amazing adventure” .

I don’t know if I am a bit crazy. But if you don’t challenge your self you will not grow and don’t get to know what you actually are capable off.

Why I decided to go

During the past two years we had the pleasure to be host family for exchange students. We had a girl from Thailand and this year one from Colombia.

I decided that one of our goal was to visit the exchange students in their home country. A way to see their culture and not just to hear about it.

Last christmas 2017 and for three weeks we was travelling in Thailand to visit our exchange student and also see the country. We saw a small part of east Thailand. The travel was the beginning to something I want to do more often. Planning a trip without a travel agency is quite easy. Next time you should try it. You will see it is not that hard.

This trip started the idea of travelling to see other countries and learn about other cultures.

The beginning

Long time ago I dreamed about travelling. Most of the ideas was shot down.

I saw a cast about the 5 second rule and decided next time a new idea was born to use the 5 second rule.

To those who don’t know the 5 second rule I will explain it very briefly here:

When the idea appears you have to take action within the first 5 seconds, else you will just reject the idea and nothings gonna happen.

A lot of people say. One day I will travel the world, but if you don’t set a date and start to arrange it will just be a dream. To realize a dream you have to take action. Make it happen by setting at fixed schedule and date.

This is how my trip to Costa Rica started.

I had the idea, set a date and ordered the tickets, made all the necessary arrangements and now I am ready to go.

I will keep you updated about the trip and hopefully post a lot of pictures from the trip.
