First one and a half week at work.

I work as a volunteer at Santo Domingo private school. I am assistent in a class with 8 to 10 students. All around 5 years old.

The Kids are very open and curios., from first time I came into the class. Every one wanted to know all about me and a lot of hugs upon arrival and every day when i leave the class. It is amazing to see how much they care and want to be friend with some one they never met before.

In the class there are 3 kid’s with special needs. They are very cute but it is hard work to make them sit and pay attention. I love these three kids. I spent a lot of time to help and try to teach them how to behave. Sometimes it looks like they are progressing but soon they return to basic. But I still hope the effort is paying back. They are not dumb but need some attention during classes.

I already start to think about the day when i have to leave. It will be a sad day. Perhaps stay 2 months more or forever. I will get back to that i a later post.

The school only have female teachers i think they do their job really good, but you can see that the boys love to come and talk with me. I think they sometimes need a different type as well. Someone which know how a boy plays and don’t care about every small injury.

Until next time. It will be more about living in Costa Rica and how easy it is.

Pura vida mis amigos. Hasta luego.

Primera vez en San José

Saturday another student and I went to San José to visit a few museums. The first was museo de oro pre colombiano. The exhibición are about the time before the spanish came to Costa Rica. It is worth a visit if you go to Costa Rica. After that we went to the museo de artes Costarricense. This was not exactly what we expected but it was nice to see paintings, sketches and sculptures. The entrance was free so olay only a long walk to the museum.

When i get a good Internet connection i will upload pictures.

Hasta luego.

Un día muy triste

Friday i finished my spanish class and received a certifícate. Four weeks passed to fast. I will recommend ICLC, the teachers are profesional and try to push you as much as possible but also know when to hold back. Sofia and Xinia, Marcela, Ronny, Rosy and Ellie all of them are so nice and helps you to feel comfortable at the school.

But now it is time to move on. Next stop is assist in the school for seven weeks. Learn more spanish in real life.

This weekend my family started to correct all my sentences. If i said something that happended in the past (pasado) in present they say no, no, and told me the correct way to say it. Never happended before. No mercy anymore 😁 now you must speak correct. Every body are my teachers now. That is so cool. Now they look at me and say no comprende and I must start over and over again until they understand. It is a nice way to learn as well.

Sometimes a bit annoying but no way back. Keep on trying and suddently you figure out what you said wrong and learn.

Hasta luego mis amigos.
